Project Quilting - Season 10, Challenge 5: Abecedarius

Relating to letters or the alphabet. This was my week!  I wanted to try paper piecing again and this gave me a chance. I didnt have a lot of time because i am starting my volunteer role: stage managing Moon Over Buffalo (theatre).  I took what time i had and gave it my best shot.

I dont have a printer so i used paper, a ruler, pencil and a permanent marker to sketch out the letter. I chose A because I have really cool lobster fabric left over from a project for my grandpa and his middle name starts with A.

Once i drew out and markered my letter, i had to decide where to start. Taking the small pieces first and sectioning it off like blocks made it easy to do the piecing of this letter.

I wanted to  keep the lobster fabric going to finish it off, so i did a graduated border/binding.

The piece is 11" x 16". I create in Schaumburg Illinois. Its called "A" Lobster
