Project Quilting - Season 10, Challenge 3: Bigger Than a Breadbox

The theme this week is "bigger than a breadbox".

When my family played 20 questions we often asked this question.  I thought about doing a play on the words or something with 20 questions.  But then I remembered I'm getting into my series of busy weeks.  I really only had a few days to complete this project.

I decided to do a quilt based on a single block that i had never done before, but wanted to try.  I narrowed it down and decided on the card trick block.

The construction was pretty easy. But i made a mistake when attaching the background. Traditionally the card trick is set on an angle. But the way i did my background was vertical. So ill either have to hang it on an angle, or be ok with it bekng askew.

I had fun with the backing.  I reused a halloween top that never got finished.

I did a very basic diagonal line quilting since i was pressed for time. Im pleased with the binding this time. Its a sore spot for me.

The quilt is 26" x 31"
I create in Schaumburg IL

  1. This is wonderful! I think you can set your card trick in whichever way makes you happy!
